CNCS has several training opportunities available to non-represented classified staff members. These opportunities are brought to membership by money given to CNCS from the Vice Chancellor's office.
CNCS Pre-Paid Registration
Select training courses throughout the year offer a set number of free seats. Courses with free seats will indicate that they have free paid registration for non-reps. When these free seats are full, registration will indicate that the free seats are gone, but there are still spots left in the course for you to pay to attend.

When you register for a free seat training spot you are expected to attend. The registration fee is still paid if you attend or not. If you don't attend, you deny this training opportunity for another CNCS member. If an emergency comes up and you are unable to attend, please notify OHR as soon as you know you cannot attend.

Training Grants
Twice a year, the CNCS offers a competition for members to apply for money to pay for various training events. These events can be classes, workshops, conferences, certificate programs, etc.
When grant applications are being accepted, the worksheet and all relevant information and examples of previous grants will be listed on the web.
